We are excited to publicly announce the launch of Ahvva (beta). Ahvva stands for Automated Hostile Vehicle Vector Analysis. It is an innovative (patent-pending) technology that uses geographical data, information and imagery to perform vehicle threat and vector analysis for any area in the world. Just point and click on a map, and Ahvva will analyse potential attack vectors, model vehicle behavior (such as velocity and momentum) and provide a risk rating.
The problem
The use of vehicles as weapons to inflict harm to people or property is not new but has been front of mind for many since a series of attacks where vehicles where deliberately driven into crowds of people in France, the UK, Sweden, Spain, the United States, Japan, and Australia. Vehicles can also be used as weapons against property and assets, including to facilitate criminal acts such as robberies in ram-raiding attacks.

Cities around the world are now spending millions of dollars on hostile vehicle mitigation including the installation of temporary or permanent vehicle barriers. In order to ensure that hostile vehicle mitigation measures are effective and proportionate, vehicle threat and vector analysis needs to be performed to identify possible vectors or paths that an attacking vehicle might take when approaching a particualr target.
The solution
Ahvva uses geographical data and information to create data-driven and automated vehicle threat and vector analysis.
When using Ahvva, users simply designate targets on a map (or submit coordinates directly via to the Ahvva API) and all of the analysis is handled by Ahvva. This includes gathering geographical data and information about surrounding roads and paths, identifying all possible attack vectors, modelling vehicle behaviour (such as velocity, momentum and kinetic energy) across all of these potential attack vectors, and then ranking these routes from highest risk to lowest risk based on likelihood and consequence.
Ahvva’s innovative technology allows vehicle threat and vector analysis to be performed on a massive scale and on-demand, at extremely low-cost. This means that vehicle threat and vector analysis can now be used in ways that were not possible before, such assessing the vulnerability of an entire property portfolio to vehicle attacks, or performing assessments as they are required in the field.

This means that vehicle threat and vector analysis can now be used in ways that were not possible before, such assessing the vulnerability of an entire property portfolio to vehicle attacks, or performing assessments as they are required in the field. Use Ahvva to conduct preliminary risk assessments of dozens or hundreds of assets to identify at-risk locations, or use Ahvva to provide on the spot risk and vulnerability assessments for underwriting or barrier recommendation.
