Assess Threat and Periculum Security Group Partner to Deliver Terrorism Risk Assessments Across the UK

Assess Threat is delighted to announce a new partnership with UK-based specialist consultancy Periculum Security Group, supporting the delivery of data-driven terrorism and risk assessments across County Cricket Clubs and associated venues in the United Kingdom.

Intelligence-Led Partnership

Periculum Security Group provides expertise in intelligence-led investigations, strategic threat advisory, counter-terrorism, and crisis management. Their dedicated Periculum Sport division supports sporting bodies, governing organisations, clubs, and events with specialist risk and security advisory services for high-attendance and high-profile environments.

Through this partnership, Periculum Security Group will utilise Assess Threat’s Protect Duty Compliance and Audit Report (PDR) platform to deliver terrorism risk assessments for their clients.

Data-Driven Resilience

The PDR is a data-driven online assessment tool designed to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities by analysing:

  • Historical and Geospatial Data: Contextualising risks based on location and past events

  • Real-Time Data: Analysing online information to assess prominence and public exposure

  • Existing Security Procedures and Measures: Evaluating current security arrangements to identify opportunities for improvement.

The platform produces comprehensive reports designed to support organisations in understanding terrorism risk and improving their security posture. It reflects current UK guidance from ProtectUK and the NPSA and supports organisations preparing for the implementation of Martyn’s Law.

“This partnership brings together operational counter terrorism expertise and data-driven risk modelling to help organisations move beyond compliance and toward genuinely informed resilience. Together, Assess Threat and Periculum Security Group are strengthening community resilience by raising the standard of intelligence-led, proportionate protective security across the UK.”

- Nazli Hocaoglu, CEO, Assess Threat

“County Cricket Clubs are central to their communities. They host large-scale sporting events, corporate hospitality, and community activities that bring thousands of people together.

At Periculum Security Group, we believe protective security must be intelligence-led, proportionate, and practical. Our partnership with Assess Threat enables us to combine operational counterterrorism insight with structured, nationally aligned risk assessment methodology.

Together, we are committed to supporting the UK cricket sector in strengthening resilience, safeguarding spectators and staff, and preparing confidently for the requirements of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025.

This is about enabling clubs to focus on the game, while knowing their security posture is robust, defensible, and future-ready.”

- Oliver L. CEO, Periculum Security Group

Major sporting venues such as county cricket grounds bring together large crowds, hospitality operations, media activity, and extensive event-day logistics. Managing security in these settings requires a structured understanding of venue layouts, crowd dynamics, access points, and the effectiveness of existing protective procedures and controls. Structured risk assessments help operators identify vulnerabilities, evaluate existing protections, and ensure security measures remain proportionate to the risks faced by large public venues.

With statutory guidance expected in Summer 2026 and full implementation of Martyn’s Law anticipated in Spring 2027, organisations now have a clear opportunity to begin preparing.

The partnership is particularly relevant for venues, stadiums, and large public premises seeking to strengthen preparedness and align with the forthcoming requirements of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025.
